Ingredients
- Dr. Oetker Cake Jelly - 1.1 oz
- Water - 1 cup
- Sugar - 14.8 oz
- Salt - ¼ teaspoon
- Egg white - 2 pieces
- Potato protein - 0.9 oz
- Light Molasses - to taste
- "Dr. Oetker Vanilla Sugar" - to taste
- "Dr. Oetker Vanilla Sugar" - to taste
Step by Step guide
Step 1
Dissolve the gelatin in 0.5 cup of hot water and stir until fully dissolved. In a saucepan, combine sugar, molasses, salt, and half a cup of water. Stir and cook over medium heat for about 7 minutes. Once the sugar has melted, turn off the heat and add the gelatin. Let the mixture cool to room temperature.
Step 2
Whip the egg whites in a deep bowl, pour in all the liquid from the saucepan, and beat with a mixer on high speed. When the egg whites and gelatin mixture have risen, add the vanilla sugar and continue to beat until the mixture is very thick.
Step 3
Then mix the starch and powdered sugar. Take a baking tray lined with parchment paper and greased with oil, and sprinkle it with the starch and powdered sugar mixture. Pour the mixture onto the tray and spread it evenly across the surface. Sprinkle the mixture with the starch and powdered sugar blend and leave it to set for at least 3–4 hours without covering or refrigerating.
Step 4
Use cookie cutters or a sharp knife to cut the desired shapes from the finished pastila.
