Honey Cake with Strawberries and Sour Cream
Ingredients
- Honey - 2 tablespoons
- Butter - 3.5 oz
- Farm fresh eggs - 2 pieces
- Activated Baking Soda - 1 teaspoon
- Sugar - 1 cup
- Wheat Flour - 3 cups
- Sour Cream - 28.2 oz
- Vanillin - to taste
- Strawberry - 17.6 oz
- Powdered Sugar - 3.9 oz
Step by Step guide
Step 1
Honey cakes. Melt the butter and let it cool. Add the eggs and sugar to the butter and beat well. Mix in the liquid honey (preferably dark) and baking soda. Add this mixture to the butter. Sift the flour and gradually incorporate it into the mixture.
Step 2
Divide the dough into 8 parts. Roll each piece out and cut out a circle with a diameter of approximately 20–22 cm. Bake each layer for 5–8 minutes at a temperature of 356°F.
Step 3
Sour cream frosting. Whip the sour cream (40% fat) with powdered sugar and vanillin until it becomes a white fluffy cream.
Step 4
Wash and slice the strawberries. If you really love strawberries, you can layer them between all the cakes—I layer them every other one and spread cream on each. When assembling, I also spread cream on the sides.
Step 5
For decoration, you can use anything you like: chocolate, nuts, fresh berries, cocoa. I decorated with leftover cake crumbs and strawberries.
