Honey Cake with Walnuts
Ingredients
- Honey - 2 tablespoons
- Chocolate eggs - 2 pieces
- Baking Powder - 1 teaspoon
- Sugar - 1 cup
- Butter - 15 oz
- Wheat Flour - 3 cups
- Walnuts - to taste
- Condensed Milk - 1½ cans
Step by Step guide
Step 1
In a water bath, melt the margarine or butter, add sugar and honey, and heat while stirring occasionally until smooth.
Step 2
Add baking powder or soda and stir until the mixture increases in volume and whitens. Remove from heat and let cool.
Step 3
Add the eggs and mix well. Then incorporate the flour and knead a soft dough.
Step 4
Divide the dough into 6–8 parts and roll out the layers (the dough is very soft, making it difficult to roll out with a rolling pin and transfer to the pan, so it's easier to place a piece of dough in a greased pan and press it down with your hands).
Step 5
Bake the layers in a preheated oven at 170–356°F for 5–10 minutes. Remove the layers from the oven while they are still slightly soft.
Step 6
For the cream, whip the softened butter with a mixer until fluffy. Then, while continuing to whip, gradually add the condensed milk and whip until a fluffy, homogeneous mass is achieved.
Step 7
Stack the finished layers on top of each other and trim the edges evenly. Layer the cake with cream and spread cream on top as well.
Step 8
Decorate with walnuts and sprinkle with crumbs from the trimmed layers.
