Honey Cakes with Creamy Frosting

Ingredients

  • Wheat Flour - 12.7 oz
  • Sugar - 6.3 oz
  • Margarine - 3.5 oz
  • Milk - 5 fl oz
  • Farm fresh eggs - 2 pieces
  • Vinegar essence - a pinch
  • Salt - to taste
  • Butter - 4.4 oz
  • Powdered Sugar - 8.5 oz
  • Colored sugar pens - to taste
  • Wafer cakes - 5 pieces
  • Red Food Coloring - to taste
  • Black licorice - 1 piece
  • Multicolored candy - to taste
  • Pastry gel - to taste

Step by Step guide

Step 1

Grease two rectangular baking pans measuring 8x23 cm with butter. In a bowl, combine the flour, sugar, grated margarine, 2 tablespoons of milk, a pinch of vanilla essence, and salt, and beat well with a mixer. Pour the batter into the pans and bake in the oven for about 35 minutes. Let it sit for 5 minutes, then turn out onto a wire rack to cool completely.

Step 2

Beat the softened butter with an electric mixer, gradually adding half of the powdered sugar, 120 ml of milk, and the remaining powdered sugar. Set aside three-quarters of the frosting, and mix the rest with food coloring. Use the colored frosting to create a design, and use the remaining white frosting for the other parts. Sprinkle the design with colored sugar.

Step 3

Cut the wafers into triangles and enhance the design. For decoration, you can also use ring candies, colored sprinkles, thinly sliced licorice, and decorating gel.
