Honey Lavender Bread

Ingredients

  • Wheat Flour - 8.8 oz
  • Coarsely Ground Rye Flour - 7.1 oz
  • Amaranth grain - 1.8 oz
  • Dry yeast - 0.4 oz
  • Salt - 1 teaspoon
  • Lavender flowers - 1 tablespoon
  • Honey - 0.1 oz
  • Water - 12 fl oz

Step by Step guide

Step 1

Mix the three types of flour and rub in the yeast with your fingers. Dissolve the honey in warm water. Pour the water into the flour, add salt and lavender flowers. Knead the dough. If you knead with wet hands, the dough will not stick to your hands as much, making it easier to knead.

Step 2

Shape the dough into a ball, place it in a bowl greased with vegetable oil, cover with plastic wrap, and let it sit for 45 minutes.

Step 3

Take the dough out, place it on a work surface, shape it into a ball, and put it back in the bowl. Cover with plastic wrap and let it sit for another 45 minutes.

Step 4

Take the dough out, stretch it into a rectangle. Folding the ends towards the center, shape it into a ball. Place the ball seam-side down on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Preheat the oven to 428°F (428 degrees Fahrenheit) to ensure it heats up well.

Step 5

Leave the dough at room temperature for 1 hour.

Step 6

Make cuts on the dough with a blade or sharp knife and place it in the oven for about 30 minutes. The finished bread will sound hollow when tapped on the bottom.

Step 7

Remove the bread and let it cool wrapped in a towel.
