Ingredients

  • Wheat Flour - 2 lbs
  • Honey - 5.3 oz
  • Sugar - 7.1 oz
  • Whole egg - 2 pieces
  • Butter - 5.3 oz
  • Milk - 3 fl oz

Step by Step guide

Step 1

Melt the butter in a saucepan, pour in half a cup of milk, add honey, and stir.

Step 2

Gradually fold the flour into the hot oil using a wooden spatula.

Step 3

Beat the egg yolks with sugar, then add them to the dough. Turn the dough out onto a countertop and knead it by hand for a long time — the longer you knead, the better the result will be.

Step 4

Roll the dough into balls about one centimeter in diameter and arrange them in a single layer on a baking sheet. Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven at 356°F for about twenty minutes.

Step 5

Pour two cups of water into a saucepan, add four tablespoons of sugar, place it over heat, and reduce until it thickens into a syrup.

Step 6

Remove the baked gingerbread from the oven and brush it with syrup using a pastry brush. Allow the gingerbread to dry for five to ten minutes, during which the balls will stick together even better. Then, carefully remove it from the baking tray and serve.
