Description
Such simple sauces are a wonderful addition to ice cream. Serve these sauces separately and let guests prepare their own dessert. These sauces are also delicious with cakes, charlottes, sweet pancakes, and puff pastry desserts.
Ingredients
- Cream (40%) - 7 fl oz
- Sugar - 5.3 oz
- Chocolate - 4.4 oz
- Butter - 1.1 oz
- Light Molasses - 2 tablespoons
- Vanilla extract - 20 teaspoons
Step by Step guide
Step 1
Place a 2-liter saucepan with a thick bottom over medium heat, and heat the heavy cream, granulated sugar, chopped chocolate, and molasses in it. Stirring constantly, bring to a boil. Boil for 45 minutes, stirring continuously, until the mixture thickens slightly.
Step 2
Remove from heat, add the butter and vanilla extract. Serve warm. You can cool it completely, refrigerate it, and cover (do not cover the sauce while it is warm, as condensation will make it grainy). Reheat before serving. You will get approximately 400 milliliters of sauce.
