Hungarian Jam Pie
Ingredients
- Wheat Flour - 2 cups
- Baking Powder - 1 teaspoon
- Salt - a pinch
- Butter - 7.1 oz
- Sugar - 1 cup
- Egg white - 3 pieces
- Water - 1 cup
- Raspberry gin - to taste
Step by Step guide
Step 1
Sift the flour, baking powder, and salt.
Step 2
Add sugar, yolks, a cup of water, and the butter divided into 3 pieces.
Step 3
Beat for 3–4 minutes with a mixer or knead by hand, gradually adding a little flour if kneading by hand.
Step 4
Divide the resulting dough into 2 parts. Place both parts in the freezer for 45 minutes.
Step 5
Take the first part and grate it over the entire baking sheet.
Step 6
Spread any jam or preserve of your choice over the grated dough on the baking sheet.
Step 7
Grate the second part of the dough over the jam or preserve.
Step 8
Bake in a preheated oven at 392°F for 40 minutes.
