Ingredients
- Water - 8 fl oz
- Sugar - 0.5 oz
- Wheat Flour - 6.3 oz
- Salt - 0.2 oz
- Dry yeast - 0.2 oz
- Powdered Sugar - to taste
Step by Step guide
Step 1
Mix the yeast and sugar in warm water.
Step 2
Knead the dough by adding flour and salt to the liquid mixture. Place the dough in a warm, draft-free area to rise for 1 to 1.5 hours.
Step 3
For frying, you can use a deep pot, a skillet with high sides, or a deep fryer. Heat the oil almost to boiling. (The donuts should float in it, so don't skimp on the amount.)
Step 4
Using a spoon, take pieces of the dough without kneading it and place them in the oil, using a second spoon to help. This will create donuts of various shapes.
Step 5
Remove with a slotted spoon onto napkins or paper towels to drain excess oil. Dust with powdered sugar and serve immediately, without waiting for them to cool.
