Description

If you have a very powerful oven, set it to 180 degrees Celsius. Generally, it's best to start with 15 minutes, and if it’s not golden enough, add another 5 minutes. See the photo. Good luck and enjoy your meal; it’s incredibly delicious. 200 g of apples is about 2 apples.

Ingredients

  • Green Apples - 7.1 oz
  • Raisins - 1.1 oz
  • Chopped almonds - 0.4 oz
  • Rum - 0 fl oz
  • Clarified Butter - 1.4 oz
  • Butter - 4.2 oz
  • Powdered Sugar - 2.1 oz
  • Wheat Flour - 5.6 oz
  • Apricot Jam - 1.8 oz
  • Dry yeast - 0.2 oz
  • Shortcrust Cake Mix - 14.1 oz
  • White bread - 2.8 oz

Step by Step guide

Step 1

First, prepare the base. I recommend checking my recipes for 'Italian Shortcrust Pastry' (basic recipe). While it cools, we will make the filling.

Step 2

Cut the bread into cubes and soak them in milk. Set aside.

Step 3

In a clean bowl, add the chopped apples, raisins, rum, nuts, and the soaked bread. Melt the butter on the stove and pour it into the filling. Mix everything well. The filling is ready. Set it aside.

Step 4

Knead the dough for decoration. In a clean bowl, add softened butter, flour, powdered sugar, and yeast. Knead the dough. Place it in the refrigerator for 30 minutes.

Step 5

Preheat the oven to 392°F. Place the baking dish in the oven to heat it up. Once it’s hot, take it out and grease it with butter.

Step 6

Manually spread the base dough on the bottom and sides of the dish, with a thickness of no more than 1 cm (first spread the dough on the bottom, then on the sides, running your fingers along the edges of the dish to make them nice and neat).

Step 7

Then, spread apricot jam on the bottom of the future pie.

Step 8

Add the apple filling.

Step 9

Finally, decorate the pie. Take the yeast dough out of the refrigerator, roll it into long sticks by hand, and place them on top of the pie (the sticks should be sized according to the pie, see the photo).

Step 10

Send it to the oven for 20 minutes.
