Ingredients
- Milk - 7 fl oz
- Wheat Flour - 17.6 oz
- Dry yeast - 0.2 oz
- Salt - to taste
- Raisins - 3 oz
- Citrus Zest Mix - 1 teaspoon
- Candied fruits - 3.5 oz
- Sugar - 1.9 oz
- Butter - 1.9 oz
- Vegetable Oil - 4 fl oz
- Egg white - 4 pieces
- Egg white - 1 piece
Step by Step guide
Step 1
Dissolve the yeast in warm milk.
Step 2
Combine the flour, salt, candied fruits, raisins, zest, and sugar. Gradually pour in the milk while stirring constantly. Add the yolks, olive oil, and melted butter. Knead the dough.
Step 3
Place the dough in a greased bowl, turning it to coat all sides with oil. Cover and let rise in a warm place for 1 hour.
Step 4
Punch down the dough, shape it into a ball, and place it in a greased and floured baking pan. Let it rise for another hour.
Step 5
Make two crosswise slashes on top of the loaf with a sharp knife. Beat the egg white with water and brush the top of the loaf.
Step 6
Bake in the oven for 1 hour.
