Description
This is a homemade attempt to make ice cream. Just imagine, you have jam and no ice cream maker, yet you crave ice cream. I would do the same. The almond milk mentioned in the recipe is a fairly common product in noble estates that allowed for ice cream preparation, for example, on fasting days. Almond milk back then was no different from the kind we have today, except that people made it themselves.
Ingredients
- Jam - 15.9 oz
- Water - 20 fl oz
- Sugar - 3.5 oz
- Almond - 1 tablespoon
- Lemon - ½ pieces
- Fresh Berries - to taste
Step by Step guide
Step 1
Boil the water with sugar.
Step 2
Add the syrup to the pureed jam.
Step 3
Squeeze the juice of half a lemon into it.
Step 4
Add almond milk.
Step 5
Mix thoroughly until smooth. Pour into a mold.
Step 6
Allow the mixture to cool completely. Place it in the freezer for 4 hours or until it is firm.
Step 7
Stir every hour to ensure the ice cream freezes evenly.
Step 8
When the ice cream is almost set, give it one last stir and return it to the freezer for another hour.
Step 9
The finished ice cream can be scooped using an ice cream scoop.
Step 10
Serve garnished with fresh berries.
