Description
Jewish Hamantaschen Pastries
Ingredients
- Wheat Flour - 30 oz
- Pears - 3 pieces
- Cinnamon - ½ teaspoon
- Baking Powder - 3 teaspoons
- Granulated sugar - 10.6 oz
- Vanilla extract - 2 teaspoons
- Water - 6 fl oz
- Farm fresh eggs - 4 pieces
- Vegetable Oil - 6 fl oz
Step by Step guide
Step 1
Knead the dough from vegetable oil, three eggs, vanilla, water, sugar, baking powder, and flour. Knead until a soft dough is formed. Roll out very thinly.
Step 2
Prepare the filling: simmer finely chopped pears, 100 grams of sugar, and cinnamon for 5 minutes over low heat.
Step 3
Cut out circles from the dough using a glass with a diameter of 7–10 cm. Place a teaspoon of filling in the center of each circle. Form a triangle by folding the dough from two sides to the center and pinch tightly.
Step 4
Place the hamantaschen on a parchment-lined baking sheet at a small distance from each other. Brush with beaten egg, and sprinkle with cinnamon and sugar.
Step 5
Bake for 15–20 minutes at 356°F.
