Juicy Apple and Lemon Zest Pie
Ingredients
- Sugar - 8.5 oz
- Citrus Zest Mix - 0.1 oz
- Vegetable Oil - 3 fl oz
- Apple - 3 pieces
- Baking Powder - 0.4 oz
- Vanillin - 0.4 oz
- Chicken Egg - 3 pieces
- Wheat Flour - 10.6 oz
- Mint - 0.2 oz
Step by Step guide
Step 1
Beat 3 eggs with 240 g of sugar.
Step 2
Peel the apples, cut them into medium-sized pieces, place them in a saucepan, and sprinkle with the remaining sugar. Heat until caramelized. After they are ready, drain the liquid into a glass and let the apples cool.
Step 3
Add oil, lemon zest, and mint to the beaten eggs. Mix the baking powder and vanillin with the flour beforehand, and gradually incorporate it into the eggs.
Step 4
Fold the apples into the batter. Grease a baking dish with vegetable oil and pour the batter into it.
Step 5
Bake the pie at 356°F for 20–25 minutes.
Step 6
Remove the finished pie from the oven. Use a thin toothpick to make several holes in the pie, let it breathe for half a minute, and then slowly drizzle with the liquid left from the caramelized apples.
Step 7
If you are not serving it hot, after the caramel sets, you can sprinkle it with powdered sugar; in my case, it was cinnamon sugar — the perfect option.
