- Sugar - 15.9 oz

- Cinnamon - 1 piece
Step by Step guide
Step 1
Prepare the necessary ingredients.
Step 10
Slowly drizzle the baked baklava with the cooled syrup.
Step 11
Let it sit for 10 minutes, then serve.
Step 2
Pour water over the sugar to make the syrup.
Step 3
Add the zest of one lemon and a cinnamon stick.
Step 4
Place on the heat, bring to a boil, and then remove from heat, ensuring that the sugar has completely dissolved. Allow to cool.
Step 5
Chop the nuts and mix them with ground cinnamon and cloves.
Step 6
Melt the butter and brush the bottom and sides of the baking dish with it.
Step 7
Tear the dough into strands with your hands, being careful not to break it. Cover with a damp cloth to prevent the dough from drying out.
Step 8
Separate a portion of the dough and lightly brush it with butter, place a teaspoon of filling in the center, and roll it up into a log. Transfer it to a baking dish and use a brush with butter to shape it more neatly.
Step 9
Roll the remaining layers in the same way. The baklava should fit tightly against each other. Place in the oven preheated to 356°F and bake for one hour.
