Kefir buns without yeast and eggs

Ingredients

  • Kefir - 17 fl oz
  • Wheat Flour - 4 cups
  • Safflower Oil - 17 fl oz
  • Activated Baking Soda - 1½ teaspoons
  • Sugar - 1½ cups
  • Salt - 1½ teaspoons

Step by Step guide

Step 1

Knead a soft dough by mixing kefir, baking soda, sugar, salt, oil, and flour.

Step 2

Divide the dough into small balls and roll each into a flat cake about 1 cm thick.

Step 3

Sprinkle the flat cake with sugar and roll it into a log. Cut the resulting log lengthwise in the middle, leaving the edges intact and not cutting through the bottom layer of dough. Turn it inside out to form a heart shape, pinching the ends together.

Step 4

Place the buns on a greased baking sheet and bake at 356°F (350 degrees Fahrenheit) for 25-30 minutes.
