Description
Khachapuri Georgian Style is a delicious cheese-filled bread that originates from Georgia. This savory dish features a soft, fluffy crust that is typically filled with a mixture of cheeses, often including feta and mozzarella. The bread is usually baked until golden and served hot, often with an egg on top for added richness. Enjoy it with a side of fresh herbs or a simple salad for a delightful meal.
Ingredients
- Wheat Flour - 2 glasses
- Sugar - 2 spoons
- Margarine - 3.5 oz
- Sour Cream - 6 teaspoons
- Salt - ¼ spoons
- Mashed Potatoes - 10.6 oz
- Activated Baking Soda - ¼ spoons
- Feta cheese - 3.5 oz
- Chicken Egg - 1 piece
Step by Step guide
Step 1
Soften the margarine until it is pliable. Mix the sour cream, sugar, and salt until the sugar crystals are completely dissolved, then gradually add this mixture to the margarine. Next, combine with flour and baking soda, and quickly knead the dough.
Step 2
Mix the mashed potatoes with grated feta cheese.
Step 3
Roll out the dough into round or oval discs about 10–12 centimeters in diameter and seal in the filling (place the filling in the center, cover it with dough on top, and carefully pinch the edges to seal). You can also make khachapuri in the form of large open pastries. Place them on a greased baking sheet, brush with egg, and bake for 10–15 minutes at a temperature of 428°F in a preheated oven.
Step 4
Serve the khachapuri hot.
