Description
Instead of fresh yeast, you can use dry yeast (7 grams). For the filling, you can use jam, jelly, or preserves. I haven't tried this recipe yet! I will bake it on the weekend and then post a photo!
Ingredients
- Milk - 4 fl oz
- Wheat Flour - 8.8 oz
- Egg white - 2 pieces
- Dry yeast - 0.7 oz
- Butter - 1.4 oz
- Rum - 1 tablespoon
- Powdered Sugar - 1.2 oz
- Salt - a pinch
- Condensed Milk - 1 can
- Citrus Zest Mix - 1 piece
Step by Step guide
Step 1
Heat half of the milk and dissolve the yeast in it. Add a couple of tablespoons of flour and knead a sticky dough. Cover it and place it in a warm place to rise.
Step 2
Mix the yolks with powdered sugar and beat until light. Add the alcohol, zest, and salt. Stir well.
Step 3
Heat the remaining milk, add the butter, and stir until dissolved. Add the milk mixture to the yolks, add the yeast mixture, and gradually add the flour. Knead the dough.
Step 4
Divide the dough into 12 pieces, shape them into balls, place them on a floured surface, cover with a towel, and let them rise. Place a cutting board on the risen balls and press down to flatten them slightly.
Step 5
In a saucepan, heat oil for frying and fry the kramfen on both sides over medium heat.
Step 6
Cool the kramfen and fill them with condensed milk using a syringe. Dust with powdered sugar.
