Description
Use soft margarine. Leave it at room temperature until it can be easily mashed with a spoon. But do not melt it!
Ingredients
- Margarine - 12.7 oz
- Chicken Egg - 3 pieces
- Sugar - 3 tablespoons
- Milk - 8 fl oz
- Wheat Flour - 16.9 oz
- Dry yeast - 0.4 oz
- Jam - to taste
- Salt - a pinch
- Sour Cream - 1 tablespoon
- Powdered Sugar - to taste
Step by Step guide
Step 1
Beat the eggs with sugar, salt, and sour cream, then add the soft margarine and mix thoroughly. Pour in the slightly warm milk and mix again.
Step 2
Mix the yeast with 240 ml of flour and add it to the mixture, stirring well. Then add the remaining flour to knead the dough. The measurements are approximate, as my cups are larger. You should adjust as needed. The dough should not be too dense, just enough to not stick to your hands. Knead for a short time. Cover the dough with a towel and let it rest for 1 to 1.5 hours.
Step 3
Take a small piece of dough that fits in both hands. Roll it out into a circle about 5 mm thick. Cut the circle into wedges, like a pizza, yielding a total of 16 pieces.
Step 4
Take jam. You can choose any kind, but avoid large berries. Raspberry jam works perfectly. Place a small amount of jam on the wide part of each wedge; if you use too much, it will spill out when you roll it. Now carefully roll the dough from the wide part to the narrow part to create something resembling a croissant. Do not seal the thin tip; it will just remain at the bottom.
Step 5
Place the kruetniki on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, leaving at least 3 cm between them. Put them in a preheated oven at 356°F and bake for 20 minutes.
Step 6
Generously sprinkle each portion, placed in a common bowl, with powdered sugar.
