Description
Kurabie in Chocolate Glaze
Ingredients
- Wheat Flour - 2 cups
- Butter - 10.6 oz
- Vanilla salt - 2 teaspoons
- Powdered Sugar - 5.3 oz
- Salt - a pinch
- Egg white - 3 pieces
- Mini Chocolate Chips - 1.8 oz
Step by Step guide
Step 1
Preheat the oven to 392°F. Take the butter out in advance to soften at room temperature.
Step 2
Beat the butter with powdered sugar and vanilla sugar. Add the flour and mix thoroughly.
Step 3
Whip the egg whites into a stiff foam with a pinch of salt. Gently fold into the dough without letting the egg whites deflate.
Step 4
Transfer the dough into a pastry bag (it's easier to first place the dough in a regular plastic bag, cut off a corner, and insert it into the pastry bag).
Step 5
Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and pipe 'roses' of kurabie.
Step 6
Bake in the preheated oven for 10 minutes. Remove the cookies and cool on a plate.
Step 7
Coat some of the kurabie with glaze: melt the chocolate chips in a water bath (or in the microwave) and mix in the butter, dip the cookies in the glaze and place on a rack to set.
Step 8
Arrange both types of cooled kurabie on a plate. Serve with hot milk.
