Description

Ladyfingers (Savoiardi) are light and airy sponge cakes that are often used in desserts like tiramisu or charlottes. Ingredients

  • Sugar - 0,6 glasses
  • Chicken Egg - 5 pieces
  • Wheat Flour - 0,9 glasses
  • Powdered Sugar - to taste

Step by Step guide

Step 1

Preheat the oven to 356°F.

Step 2

In a small bowl, use a mixer to whip the egg yolks into a stiff foam. Gradually add the sugar while continuing to whip, reserving 1.5 tablespoons. Whip until the sugar dissolves and the volume increases threefold. Then, sprinkle in the flour and mix well. The batter should be very thick.

Step 3

In another bowl, beat the egg whites until stiff peaks form. Gradually add the remaining sugar and continue to beat well.

Step 4

Gently fold the whipped egg whites into the batter and mix. Transfer the mixture to a piping bag.

Step 5

Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and carefully pipe out small sausage shapes in two rows, leaving a little space between each. Lightly dust with powdered sugar.

Step 6

Place in the oven for about 14–16 minutes, until the cookies are dry and golden. Let cool on the baking sheet.
