Lavash Pie with Meat Filling
Ingredients
- Armenian Lavash - 1 piece
- Lean Beef - 14.1 oz
- Onion - 1 piece
- Red Long Chili Peppers - 2 pieces
- Garlic - 2 cloves
- Chocolate eggs - 2 pieces
- Sour Cream - 17.6 oz
- Barbecue sauce - 3 tablespoons
- Cheese Spread - 7.1 oz
- Salt - to taste
- Spices - to taste
Step by Step guide
Step 1
Finely chop the onion and sauté it in olive oil over low heat until soft. Add the ground beef and cook, stirring, until the color of the meat changes.
Step 2
Beat the eggs and two tablespoons of sour cream, then add the spicy sauce (I used 'Bamboo Shoot - Spicy Chili').
Step 3
Finely chop the garlic and chili peppers (with seeds if you want a spicier dish, or without them).
Step 4
Add the chopped peppers and garlic to the sautéed meat with onion, a couple of tablespoons of sauce, and simmer on low heat for 2-3 minutes, stirring. Season with salt and add spices to taste—I used basil, oregano, and nutmeg.
Step 5
Blend the meat and vegetable mixture into a puree using a blender.
Step 6
Lay out a sheet of lavash (I used a standard size of 80 by 40 cm), evenly spread the remaining sour cream, and sprinkle with grated cheese. Spread the meat puree in a thin layer, leaving about 2 cm from the edges.
Step 7
Roll the lavash with the filling into a roll and let it sit for about 15 minutes to soak.
Step 8
Place the roll in a baking dish, twist it into a 'snail' shape, and generously drizzle with the remaining sauce from step 2.
Step 9
Put it in a preheated oven at 356°F and bake for about half an hour.
