These are traditional Norwegian potato flatbreads. They can be stored in the refrigerator in plastic bags and even frozen.

Ingredients

  • Mashed Potatoes - 21.2 oz
  • Butter - 3 tablespoons
  • Heavy cream - 2 tablespoons
  • Sugar - 1 tablespoon
  • Salt - 1 teaspoon
  • Wheat Flour - 1½ cups

Step by Step guide

Step 1

Mix all ingredients except for the flour, then refrigerate until thoroughly chilled. Add the flour and mix. Heat a lefse griddle or any other skillet.

Step 2

Shape the dough into a long roll and cut into 12 pieces. Form each piece into a ball.

Step 3

Roll out very thinly with a rolling pin. Dust the board with flour when flipping.

Step 4

Bake on an ungreased skillet until brown spots appear.

Step 5

Flip and bake on the other side.

Step 6

Layer the finished flatbreads between 2 towels and let cool.
