Lemon-Apple Jam Pie

Ingredients

  • Wheat Flour - 17.6 oz
  • Butter - 2.1 oz
  • Whole egg - 2 pieces
  • Milk - 10 fl oz
  • Sugar - 10.6 oz
  • Dry yeast - 0.7 oz
  • Lemon - ½ piece
  • Apple - 21.2 oz
  • Salt - a pinch

Step by Step guide

Step 1

Peel the apples, cut them into wedges, add a little water, and cook on low heat covered.

Step 2

Pass the lemon through a meat grinder and add it to the apples.

Step 3

When the apples become soft, add 200 g of sugar and cook until it reaches jam consistency on low heat, stirring frequently. Let the finished jam cool.

Step 4

Make a sponge: warm a cup of milk, dissolve the yeast in it, add 1 tablespoon of sugar and 2 tablespoons of flour, cover with a towel, and place in a warm place for about half an hour.

Step 5

Sift the remaining flour, add 2 tablespoons of sugar, salt, softened butter, yolks, the rest of the milk, and the risen sponge. Knead the dough and let it rise in a warm place for 1 hour.

Step 6

Roll out the finished dough on a floured surface, divide it into two unequal parts, and transfer the larger part to a greased baking sheet.

Step 7

Spread the apple-lemon jam evenly over the dough.

Step 8

Make strips from the remaining dough and arrange them in a lattice pattern on the pie. Let it sit for a few minutes.

Step 9

Melt 2 tablespoons of sugar and 1 teaspoon of water in a pan and simmer until it reaches syrup consistency.

Step 10

Brush the pie with the syrup and bake in a preheated oven for 40 minutes.
