Description
Especially delicious when paired with chocolate or pineapple sorbet.
Ingredients
- Mango - 2 pieces
- Lemon - 2 pieces
- Powdered Sugar - 5.6 oz
Step by Step guide
Step 1
Take two ripe medium-sized mangoes, peel them, and cut out the flesh. Blend the flesh in a blender until smooth, and if time permits and you feel like it, strain the puree through a fine sieve to remove any unwanted fibrous bits that can sometimes be found in mango flesh.
Step 2
Add the juice of two medium lemons and the powdered sugar to the puree, and blend until smooth.
Step 3
Pour the mixture into a clean container and refrigerate overnight.
Step 4
Transfer the mixture to an ice cream maker and freeze according to the manufacturer's instructions.
Step 5
If you don't have an ice cream maker, you can still make a delicious granita by hand (almost like sorbet but with larger ice crystals). For granita, pour the mixture into a container for freezing, place it in the freezer, and stir, breaking up the freezing crystals with a fork every 20 minutes until fully frozen.
