Lemon-Vanilla Donuts
Ingredients
- Wheat Flour - 17.6 oz
- Sugar - 2.8 oz
- Milk - 8 fl oz
- Dry yeast - 0.6 oz
- Egg white - 1 piece
- Whole egg - 2 pieces
- Vanilla extract - 1½ tablespoons
- Butter - 1.8 oz
- Grated Lemon Zest - 0 oz
Step by Step guide
Step 1
Sift the flour into a deep bowl, add the sugar, yeast, zest, and mix.
Step 2
In a separate bowl, combine the egg, yolks, butter, milk, and vanilla extract.
Step 3
Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and knead a soft and elastic dough that does not stick to your hands.
Step 4
Leave the dough in a warm place to rise for 1.5 hours.
Step 5
Pinch off portions of dough and shape them into round donuts. Cover with a towel and let rise for 30 minutes.
Step 6
In a deep pot, heat vegetable oil well (I used about 800 ml). It should sizzle slightly. Reduce the heat and fry the donuts, turning them occasionally to ensure they are cooked through.
Step 7
Place the finished donuts on a plate and sprinkle with powdered sugar.
