Description
This cream is great because it easily goes without added sugar: a banana is a natural source of sucrose. That's why desserts with banana are so brilliant and simple.
Ingredients
- Milk - 10 fl oz
- Egg white - 3 pieces
- Corn Starch - 3 teaspoons
- Powdered Sugar - to taste
- Bananas - 1 piece
- Butter - 0.7 oz
- Vanilla extract - to taste
- Salt - a pinch
Step by Step guide
Step 1
Heat the milk over low heat (ideally with a vanilla pod, if available).
Step 2
Whisk the egg yolks with cornstarch (can be substituted with flour), powdered sugar, and salt. Gradually dilute the mixture with part of the hot milk, continuously stirring, and add it to the saucepan with the milk.
Step 3
Add the pre-peeled pureed banana to the cream and cook until the first bubbles appear, until thickened. Remove from heat, flavor the cream with vanilla, cinnamon, or other favorite spices, and continue to stir vigorously for a few more minutes. Then cool: the cream will thicken further as it cools.
