Description
The parts of the house should cool down well (it's better to leave them to cool overnight); otherwise, the parts may be too soft, leading to a fragile structure of the house. You can bake the parts of the house a few days before assembling it. Decorate the house with 'snowy icicles' made from meringue. If desired, you can increase the scale of the house parts while maintaining the specified proportions.
Ingredients
- Milk - 7 fl oz
- Butter - 2.6 oz
- Wheat Flour - 17.6 oz
- Sugar - 2.6 oz
- Dry yeast - 0.2 oz
- Vanilla salt - 0.3 oz
- Chicken Egg - 1 piece
- Condensed Milk - 1.1 oz
- Powdered Sugar - 8.8 oz
- Egg white - 1 piece
Step by Step guide
Step 1
Copy the templates onto parchment paper. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Preheat the oven. Set the top/bottom heat to about 392°F, with a temperature of about 356°F.
Step 2
Boil the milk in a small saucepan and melt the butter in it. Thoroughly mix the flour and yeast in a separate bowl. Add the remaining components and the milk-fat mixture to the flour and yeast, and mix everything with a hand mixer on low speed, then beat the mixture on high speed for 5 minutes until it becomes a homogeneous yeast dough.
Step 3
Take 1/3 of the total dough (place 2/3 in the refrigerator), roll it out on a lightly floured surface, and then use the prepared templates to cut out the front and back walls of the house.
Step 4
Roll out the second 1/3 of the yeast dough and cut out 2 roof parts of the house using the templates. From the third 1/3 of the yeast dough, roll out a base for the house in the shape of a circle with a diameter of 30 cm.
Step 5
Place all the components of the house on the baking sheet lined with parchment paper, and brush them with condensed milk.
Step 6
Knead the remaining yeast dough, roll it out to a thickness of about 0.5 cm, and cut out any decorations for the house as you wish — doors, windows; attach them to the 'wall' part of the house and brush with condensed milk using a brush. Place all parts of the house on the baking sheet in the oven and bake for 15 minutes.
Step 7
Remove the parts of the house from the parchment paper and leave them to cool overnight on a kitchen rack.
Step 8
To make your house the most beautiful and unique, we suggest sifting the powdered sugar and whipping it with 1 egg white until it forms a firm mass for decorating the house parts. Assemble the house on a plate from the resulting parts by gluing them together with the meringue mixture. Decorate the magical house with cookies or sweets, which you can also secure with the meringue on the house parts, and leave to set.
