Maple Syrup and Pecan Tart

Ingredients

  • Butter - 5.6 oz
  • Sugar - ¼ cup
  • Whole egg - 1 piece
  • Salt - a pinch
  • Wheat Flour - 1¼ cups
  • Farm fresh eggs - 3 pieces
  • Brown Sugar - ½ cup
  • Maple syrup - ½ cup
  • Light Corn Syrup - ½ cup
  • Whipped Cream - to taste
  • Pecan - 1½ cups

Step by Step guide

Step 1

Using a mixer, beat 0.5 cup of butter until creamy. Add white sugar, yolk, and a pinch of salt, and mix well. Incorporate the flour. Roll the dough into a ball and flatten it into a disk. Roll it out on a floured surface and transfer it to a round tart pan. Gently press it down and prick it in several places with a fork. Cover and chill for 30 minutes.

Step 2

Preheat the oven to 356°F. Beat the eggs and brown sugar together. Add both syrups, 0.25 cup of softened butter, and salt. Then add the roughly chopped nuts and pour the filling into the crust.

Step 3

Place the tart pan on a baking sheet and bake for 40 minutes. Transfer to a serving plate and let cool. Serve with whipped cream.
