Marble Brownies
Ingredients
- Sugar - 5.3 oz
- Butter - 1.8 oz
- Farm fresh eggs - 3 pieces
- Salt - ¼ teaspoon
- Wheat Flour - 0.7 cups
- Baking Powder - ½ teaspoon
- Semi-soft cream cheese - 7.9 oz
- Chocolate - 12.3 oz
Step by Step guide
Step 1
Preheat the oven to 356°F. Grease a 22x22 cm square baking pan with butter.
Step 2
For the cream layer, mix softened cream cheese with 50 grams of sugar and 1 egg in a bowl until smooth. Add chopped chocolate (175 grams) to this mixture. Stir and set aside.
Step 3
For the chocolate layer, pour water into a small saucepan and bring to a boil. Turn off the heat and place a bowl with the remaining chopped chocolate (175 grams) and 50 grams of butter over the saucepan. Stir until everything melts. Add 100 grams of sugar and 2 eggs, then sifted flour, baking powder, and salt. Mix until the mixture is smooth.
Step 4
Pour half of the chocolate batter into the pan. Spread a layer of cream cheese on top. Then add the second half of the chocolate batter (it's okay if the cream layer shows through). Insert a knife vertically into the batter and make circular motions several times throughout the pan to achieve a marbled effect.
Step 5
Bake for 25–30 minutes at 356°F, until the top is slightly cracked and the edges pull away from the sides of the pan. Allow to cool completely before cutting into 12–16 squares. Store in the refrigerator.
