Description
Matzo Pancakes are a delicious and traditional dish often enjoyed during the Passover holiday. Made from crushed matzo, eggs, and a hint of seasoning, these pancakes are perfect for breakfast or as a side dish. Serve them warm with applesauce or sour cream for a delightful treat.
Ingredients
- Matzah - 3 pieces
- Chicken Egg - 3 pieces
- Milk - 5 fl oz
- Salt - to taste
- Vegetable Oil - 0 fl oz
- Sugar - to taste
Step by Step guide
Step 1
Whisk the eggs with half a cup of milk, salt, and sugar.
Step 2
Submerge the matzah, broken into small pieces about two to three centimeters in size, in the beaten eggs, and let it sit for ten minutes so that the matzah absorbs the liquid and softens. If after ten minutes there is still liquid remaining, add more matzah.
Step 3
After ten minutes, without stirring the contents of the bowl, you can start frying the pancakes. It’s convenient to use a tablespoon to scoop the softened matzah and pour it onto a well-heated skillet coated with vegetable oil. Each tablespoon holds enough matzah for one pancake. The batter sets quickly, so you only need to fry each side for a few seconds.
