Mazurka Cookies
Ingredients
- Chicken Egg - 6 pieces
- Butter - 10.6 oz
- Wheat Flour - 2 glasses
- Sugar - 1½ glasses
- Starch film - 2 spoons
- Walnuts - 2 glasses
- Raisins - 1½ glasses
- Cognac - 3 spoons
- Powdered Sugar - to taste
Step by Step guide
Step 1
Rinse the raisins and soak them in brandy for an hour.
Step 2
Chop the nuts, but not too finely.
Step 3
Beat the eggs with sugar and butter (set aside a little butter to grease the baking pan).
Step 4
Combine the flour and starch, then add to the egg-butter mixture.
Step 5
Drain the remaining cognac and gently fold the raisins and nuts into the batter.
Step 6
Line a baking tray with parchment paper or foil, grease it with butter, pour the batter into it, and spread it with a spatula to create an even layer.
Step 7
Bake at 180–392°F for 15–20 minutes, watching carefully to prevent burning, and check for doneness with a toothpick.
Step 8
Cut the finished "Mazurka" diagonally in two directions to create diamond shapes, and let it cool.
Step 9
Before serving, dust the cookies with powdered sugar.
