Description
Melon and Ginger Granita
Ingredients
- Watermelon - 1 piece
- Grated Ginger Root - 10 teaspoons
- Sugar - 3.5 oz
- Water - 5 fl oz
Step by Step guide
Step 1
Place the sugar in a saucepan with water and heat over low heat, stirring until the sugar dissolves. Remove from heat and let cool, then chill.
Step 2
Remove the seeds and skin from the melon. Chop it in a blender. Peel the ginger, grate it finely, and add it to the melon. Blend in the blender.
Step 3
Mix the chilled syrup with the melon puree. Place the mixture in a flat container and put it in the freezer. Stir with a fork every 30 minutes to break up the crystals. Do not whip too hard; it should be a rather coarse ice. After 3 hours, the granita should be ready. Serve in chilled glasses.
