Description
Moldovan cookies are somewhat reminiscent of the well-known Russian tea cookies. Instead of jam, a cherry is placed in the center, and walnuts are added to the dough.
Ingredients
- Whole egg - 4 pieces
- Powdered Sugar - 3.5 oz
- Butter - 5.3 oz
- Wheat Flour - 11.3 oz
- Chicken Egg - 1 piece
- Walnuts - 2.5 oz
- Marinated cherries - 5.3 oz
- Sugar - 3.5 oz
Step by Step guide
Step 1
Prepare the necessary ingredients.
Step 2
Whisk the egg yolks with powdered sugar until pale, then add the softened butter and mix until smooth.
Step 3
Gradually add the sifted flour and knead until a smooth dough forms. Wrap the dough in plastic wrap and refrigerate for half an hour.
Step 4
Chop the walnuts using a blender or meat grinder.
Step 5
Lightly beat the egg with a fork.
Step 6
Roll out the dough on a floured surface.
Step 7
Cut out round cookies and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
Step 8
In the center of each cookie, make an indentation with your finger, brush the cookies with egg, and sprinkle them with walnuts. Place in an oven preheated to 356°F for 15–20 minutes.
Step 9
Pour the cherries and sugar into a saucepan, place it over low heat, and cook for 15 minutes.
Step 10
