Description
This dessert is best served with whipped cream (definitely not from a can!) or a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
Ingredients
- Fig - 1.8 oz
- Pitted Prunes - 1.8 oz
- Pitted Dates - 1.8 oz
- Dried Apricots - 1.8 oz
- Light raisins - 1.8 oz
- Dried Apples - 1.8 oz
- Ginger Root - 1 piece
- Cinnamon stick - 1 piece
- Bay leaf - 1 piece
- Star anise - 1 piece
- Cardamom Pods - 2 pieces
- Cloves - 2 pieces
- Ground Cinnamon - a pinch
- Ground Nutmeg - a pinch
Step by Step guide
Step 1
Pour boiling water over all the dried fruits.
Step 2
Add the bay leaf, cardamom (broken beforehand), cloves, cinnamon stick, and star anise.
Step 3
Place everything on the stove and simmer on low heat until it thickens into a sauce.
Step 4
Peel the ginger root and grate it finely — you should get 1 teaspoon.
Step 5
Add the nutmeg, ground cinnamon, and ginger to the dried fruits and mix everything together.
