Description
Muffins with orange juice and zest
Ingredients
- Baking Powder - 2 teaspoons
- Sugar - 5.3 oz
- Farm fresh eggs - 3 pieces
- Wheat Flour - 8.8 oz
- Oranges - 1 piece
- Vanilla salt - 2 teaspoons
- Vegetable Oil - 0 fl oz
- Butter - 5.3 oz
Step by Step guide
Step 1
Soften the butter or margarine and cream it with regular and vanilla sugar. Add lightly beaten eggs and mix everything together. Pour in the freshly squeezed orange juice and zest, and mix until smooth. First, you need to zest the orange by grating it.
Step 2
Juice the peeled orange — you should get about 70 milliliters.
Step 3
Add the baking powder and flour to the liquid mixture and knead a not-too-thick dough.
Step 4
Spoon the prepared dough into greased muffin tins, leveling the dough with a spoon. The muffin tins should be filled about 2/3 full. It’s best to bake muffins in silicone molds, as the dough doesn’t stick and the finished muffins come out easily. If you have metal molds, make sure to grease them well with butter.
Step 5
Place the muffins in an oven preheated to 356°F and bake for about 20 minutes (the time may vary depending on the oven). Check the readiness of the orange muffins with a toothpick: insert a toothpick into one muffin, and if it comes out dry, they are ready.
