- Wheat Flour - 3.5 oz
- Ground Cinnamon - 1 teaspoon
- Grated Ginger Root - ½ teaspoon
- Ground Nutmeg - ½ teaspoon
- Baking Powder - ½ teaspoon
- Salt - ½ teaspoon
- Muscovado Sugar - 1.8 oz
- Milk - 1 tablespoon
- Butter - 2.6 oz
- Chopped almonds - to taste
- Candied Lemon Peel - 2 tablespoons
Step by Step guide
Step 1
Preheat the oven to 356°F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Step 2
In a bowl, mix the flour, cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg, baking powder, salt, sugar, milk, softened butter, and finely chopped candied fruits. Mix well.
Step 3
Then gently knead the dough by hand.
Step 4
Place the dough on a floured surface and roll it out to 0.5 cm thick.
Step 5
Use cookie cutters to cut out cookies and place them on the baking sheet. Optionally, sprinkle with almond flakes.
Step 6
Bake for 15-18 minutes until done and golden brown.
