Description
This sandwich has two main advantages: it is made from ingredients of classic New Year's salads that you always have on hand before the holiday, and it serves as a great snack for evening aperitifs on New Year's Eve.
Ingredients
- Chicken Egg - 1 piece
- Olive Oil - 1½ teaspoons
- Whole Grain Bun - 1 slice
- Beetroot - 0.4 oz
- Onion - 0.4 oz
- Carrot - 0.4 oz
- Flaky sea salt - a pinch
- Salt - to taste
- Pickles - to taste
- Ground Black Pepper - to taste
- Mayonnaise - to taste
Step by Step guide
Step 1
Boil the egg hard.
Step 2
Heat 1 teaspoon of olive oil with a pinch of coarse salt in a skillet.
Step 3
Place the slice of bread and spread another 0.5 teaspoon of oil on it.
Step 4
Chop the egg into small pieces.
Step 5
Once the bottom side of the bread is browned, flip it. Fry for another 1 minute over medium heat.
Step 6
Dice the beetroot into small cubes.
Step 7
Combine the beetroot and egg.
Step 8
Chop the onion and carrot into small cubes.
Step 9
Season and mix the ingredients, then place them on the mayonnaise-spread toasted bread.
Step 10
Season with black pepper and serve with a pickle.
