Nut and Blackberry Pie
Ingredients
- Egg white - 4 pieces
- Sugar - 1½ cups
- Fermented Milk - 8 fl oz
- Baking Powder - 1 teaspoon
- Vanilla salt - 1 teaspoon
- Wheat Flour - 2 cups
- Nuts - 3.5 oz
- Frozen black currant puree - 3.5 oz
Step by Step guide
Step 1
Beat the eggs with sugar (1 cup) using a mixer until the volume doubles.
Step 2
Add sour cream or milk. You can also use kefir, buttermilk, or any sour milk.
Step 3
Add baking powder, vanilla sugar, and a pinch of salt. Then add the sifted flour and chopped nuts. The batter should be thick like sour cream.
Step 4
Pour the batter into a greased baking pan and place it in an oven preheated to 356°F. Bake for 35–40 minutes. Check for readiness with a toothpick; it should come out dry.
Step 5
While the pie is baking, prepare the syrup. For this, add 0.5 cups of sugar and 0.5 cups of water to the blackberries. Bring to a boil and let it simmer for a minute.
Step 6
While still hot, remove the pie from the pan and soak it with the syrup. Decorate with blackberries and powdered sugar.
