Nutmeg Pie

Ingredients

  • Milk - 8 fl oz
  • Wheat Flour - 9.9 oz
  • Activated Baking Soda - ½ teaspoon
  • Brown Sugar - 5.3 oz
  • Butter - 6 oz
  • Chopped almonds - 1.9 oz
  • Ground Nutmeg - 1 teaspoon
  • Honey - to taste
  • Egg white - 1 piece
  • Maple syrup - to taste

Step by Step guide

Step 1

Preheat the oven to 356°F. Grease the baking dish with butter and dust with flour.

Step 2

Mix the baking soda into the milk.

Step 3

Sift the flour with the baking powder, add sugar, and mix. Add the cold butter cut into cubes or grated and make a crumb mixture.

Step 4

Place half of the crumb mixture into the dish and press down.

Step 5

Beat the egg and nutmeg. While continuing to beat at low speed, pour in the milk with baking soda. Gradually add the other half of the crumb mixture, mixing well until there are no lumps.

Step 6

Carefully spread the batter over the base, then add the walnuts. Bake the pie for 30–40 minutes until a toothpick comes out clean. Let cool, remove from the dish, and serve drizzled with honey or maple syrup.
