Ingredients
- Oats - 8 cups
- Wheat Germ - ½ cup
- Ground Flaxseed - ½ cup
- Shredded Coconut - 7.8 oz
- Sesame Seeds - 1 cup
- Almonds - 7.8 oz
- Chopped Pecans - 4.2 oz
- Brown Sugar - 1 cup
- Water - 1½ cups
- Canola Oil - ¾ cup
- Honey - 5 tablespoons
- Sorghum Syrup - ½ cup
- Salt - 1½ teaspoons
- Cinnamon - 2 teaspoons
- Vanilla - 1 tablespoon
- Dried Fruits - 10.6 oz
Step by Step guide
Step 1
Preheat the oven to 150°C.
Step 2
In a large bowl, mix the oats, wheat germ, flaxseed, coconut, sesame seeds, and nuts. Stir well.
Step 3
In a large pot, combine the brown sugar, water, oil, honey, sorghum syrup, salt, cinnamon, and vanilla.
Step 4
Bring to a boil and cook until the mixture is uniform.
Step 5
Pour the syrup over the dry ingredients and stir until everything is well combined.
Step 6
Spread the mixture onto a baking sheet with high sides. Bake for 20-30 minutes, stirring occasionally. For a crunchier texture, bake for an additional 10-15 minutes.
Step 7
Cool the mixture and add the dried fruits. Store in a tightly sealed container in a cool, dry place. Granola can be stored for 6 months.
