Description
Oatmeal Cookies According to GOST
Ingredients
- Raisins - 2 tablespoons
- Margarine - 2.8 oz
- Sugar - 3.5 oz
- Cinnamon - to taste
- Vanillin - 1 teaspoon
- Oat flakes - 3 oz
- Water - 6 tablespoons
- Salt - 1 teaspoon
- Wheat Flour - 6.9 oz
- Light Molasses - 2 teaspoons
- Activated Baking Soda - 1 teaspoon
Step by Step guide
Step 1
Chop the raisins in a blender. The raisins will turn into sticky lumps, but this does not interfere with the further process.
Step 2
It is better to use margarine at room temperature, as it will be difficult to knead the dough otherwise. Add granulated sugar, cinnamon, vanillin, and chopped raisins. Rub the mixture for 5 minutes.
Step 3
Add oat flour to the mixture. Boil the water, pour it into a cup, and cool it to 70–194°F. Dissolve the salt in the water, and add the water to the mixture while stirring constantly, mixing for 2–4 minutes.
Step 4
Add wheat flour, the baking soda that has been neutralized, and jam (molasses in the original recipe). Knead the dough until homogeneous (but no more than 6 minutes).
Step 5
Roll the dough into a sheet. But not thin, almost a centimeter thick (9–11 mm). Cut the dough with a glass.
Step 6
Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Bake for 8–13 minutes in an oven preheated to 356°F.
