Description
Instead of coconut flakes, you can add any chopped nuts. You can use honey or molasses instead of syrup; it also tastes great with maple syrup! Experiment!
Ingredients
- Wheat Flour - 1 cup
- Sugar - 1⅕ cups
- Butter - 3.5 oz
- Boiling water - 2 tablespoons
- Coconut flakes - 1 cup
- Activated Baking Soda - 1 teaspoon
- Gingerbread-flavored syrup - 2 tablespoons
- Oat flakes - 1 cup
Step by Step guide
Step 1
Melt the butter, add the syrup and the baking soda dissolved in boiling water.
Step 2
Mix all the dry ingredients, gradually pour in the butter, and knead the dough. The dough should be soft and not stick to your hands.
Step 3
Line a baking sheet with parchment paper, take a tablespoon of dough, form circles, and place them on the paper 4–5 cm apart (the cookies will rise).
Step 4
Place in a preheated oven at 356°F and bake for 15–20 minutes.
Step 5
Cool down. The cookies should be crispy.
