Description
IMPORTANT! The oats must be non-instant.
Ingredients
- Brown Sugar - 3.5 oz
- Ground Oats - 3.5 oz
- Ground dried cherries - 1.8 oz
- Powdered Sugar - 3.5 oz
- Dried Apricots - 1.8 oz
- Mini Chocolate Chips - 0.7 oz
- Butter - 3.5 oz
- Egg white - 1 piece
- Water - 1 fl oz
- Vanilla extract - to taste
Step by Step guide
Step 1
Combine the softened butter with the brown sugar and powdered sugar, and beat with a mixer.
Step 2
Separately, beat the egg well, then add it to the mixture.
Step 3
Gradually pour in the warm water, adding it slowly to avoid making the mixture too runny.
Step 4
Add chopped dried fruits to the dough (you can substitute the ones listed in the recipe with any others; I like the combination of sweet apricots and tart cherries). Add chocolate chips if desired; they pair better with raisins.
Step 5
Mix the dough. Using a tablespoon, place the dough on parchment paper, leaving space between the cookies as they spread a little.
Step 6
Bake for 25 minutes, and for the last 3 minutes, move to the top rack for better browning.
