Description
Oatmeal with Banana and Fig-Caramel Sauce
Ingredients
- Milk - 20 fl oz
- Ground Oats - 4.2 oz
- Brown Sugar - 2 tablespoons
- Butter - 1 tablespoon
- Canned Peaches - 2 pieces
- Bananas - 1 piece
- Caramel Syrup - 2 tablespoons
- Coconut flakes - to taste
Step by Step guide
Step 1
Heat a non-stick skillet. Take one large banana or two small ones, and slice them into medium-thick rings. Add butter to the skillet. Add the banana rings and fry for 1 minute on each side over medium heat. Transfer the banana rings to a plate and continue making the sauce. Add caramel sauce and figs to the skillet and simmer over low heat until slightly thickened, about 1–2 minutes. Return the bananas to the skillet and simmer for 1 minute over the same low heat, constantly drizzling them with the sauce. Remove from heat. Cover the skillet with a lid and set aside.
Step 2
Bring the milk to a boil in another pot, add 2 tablespoons of sugar, and stir. Add the oats and cook over medium heat until thickened, stirring occasionally. Remove from heat and divide the oatmeal into bowls. Serve the oatmeal with hot sauce and fried banana rings. Optionally, sprinkle with coconut flakes.
