Oatmeal with Pear and Chocolate

Ingredients

  • Hercules Oats - 2.1 oz
  • Milk - 10 fl oz
  • Cocoa Powder - 2 teaspoons
  • Brown Sugar - 1 tablespoon
  • Ground Cinnamon - a pinch
  • Grated Ginger Root - a pinch
  • Conference Pear - ½ piece
  • Meyer Lemon Juice - to taste

Step by Step guide

Step 1

Cut three thin slices from half of the pear for garnish, and dice the rest. Drizzle with lemon juice and set aside.

Step 2

Bring the milk to a boil in a small saucepan, add unsweetened cocoa powder, sugar, ground spices, and Hercules oats. Cook for about 7–10 minutes over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until desired thickness is reached. In the last minute of cooking, add the diced pear, stir, remove from heat, and let sit covered for a couple of minutes.

Step 3

Divide the oatmeal into bowls, garnish with pear slices and, if desired, any chocolate shapes or candies, sift a little cocoa powder on top, and serve.
