Ingredients
- Sugar - 9.9 oz
- Farm fresh eggs - 7 pieces
- Wheat Flour - 1.1 oz
- Oranges - 3 pieces
- Sponge Cake Base - 2.8 oz
- Ground Almonds - 9.9 oz
- Fruit Jelly - 7.1 oz
- Chopped almonds - 3.5 oz
Step by Step guide
Step 1
Grease the baking pan with butter and dust with breadcrumbs. Preheat the oven to 392°F.
Step 2
Whisk the egg yolks with half of the sugar until pale, then mix with the zest and juice of 2 oranges. Beat the egg whites with the remaining sugar until stiff peaks form and gently fold into the yolk mixture. Gradually sift in the flour, almonds, and sponge cake crumbs. Pour the prepared batter into the pan.
Step 3
Bake for 30-40 minutes, then remove from the pan and let cool.
Step 4
Heat the orange jelly and spread it over the cake. Top with chopped almonds and decorate with orange slices.
