Description
Fillings can be varied as desired without changing the base. I also made some with parmesan and caraway seeds. I replaced the sugar with grated parmesan, added a bit more gouda, milk, and caraway. It turned out very delicious.
Ingredients
- Wheat Flour - 7.4 oz
- Brown Sugar - 3.5 oz
- Baking Powder - 0.4 oz
- Butter - 2.1 oz
- Citrus Zest Mix - 1 teaspoon
- Salt - a pinch
- Mini Chocolate Chips - 3.5 oz
- Grand Marnier Liqueur - 1 tablespoon
- Farm fresh eggs - 2 pieces
Step by Step guide
Step 1
Mix the sugar, flour, salt, and baking powder, then add the zest and, if desired, cocoa and any spices.
Step 2
Add room temperature butter and rub it in, then incorporate the eggs.
Step 3
Pour in the Grand Marnier liqueur.
Step 4
Form 2 logs of the desired size (the dough doesn't rise much and spreads slightly).
Step 5
Bake at 356°F for 20 minutes.
Step 6
Remove from the oven (immediately reduce the temperature to 150–320°F), let cool slightly, slice into small pieces about 1 cm thick, and bake for another 10 minutes, turning once after 5 minutes.
Step 7
Let cool completely.
