Ingredients
- Oranges - 3 pieces
- Butter - 1.6 oz
- Sugar - 5.8 oz
- Wheat Flour - 6.3 oz
- Almond - 2.1 oz
- 20% Sour Cream - 6.3 oz
- Farm fresh eggs - 3 pieces
- Vanilla salt - 0.3 oz
- Baking Powder - 0.4 oz
- Salt - 0 oz
Step by Step guide
Step 1
Prepare all the ingredients; they should be at room temperature.
Step 2
Zest 1 orange.
Step 3
Juice this orange to get 125 ml of juice, strain it, and divide it into two containers: 75 ml and 50 ml.
Step 4
Melt 35 g of butter.
Step 5
Grease the baking dish with the remaining 10 g of butter and sprinkle the bottom with 20 g of sugar.
Step 6
Slice 2 oranges into 4 mm thick rounds, then cut them in half. Leave 1 round whole.
Step 7
Arrange the oranges in a 32 cm diameter baking dish: place the whole round in the center and overlap the halves around it.
Step 8
Prepare the dry ingredients: sift the flour, add the almond flour, salt, and baking powder, and mix with a whisk.
Step 9
In a larger bowl, combine the sour cream, 3 eggs, 130 g of sugar, vanilla sugar, orange zest, 50 ml of orange juice, and melted butter. Whisk until smooth and the sugar is dissolved.
Step 10
Add the dry ingredients and whisk until the batter is smooth and uniform.
Step 11
Pour the batter over the oranges in the dish, smooth it out, and bake in a preheated oven at 365°F for 45 minutes.

In a saucepan, combine 75 ml of orange juice with 15 g of sugar, bring to a boil, and reduce for 5 minutes over low heat.
Step 13
Remove the cake from the oven, let it cool for 5 minutes, then invert it onto a plate.
Step 14
Brush with orange syrup. Serve slightly warm or cooled.
