Description
Orange pudding with Angostura
Ingredients
- Oranges - 4 pieces
- Fine white sugar - 8.5 oz
- Butter - 8.5 oz
- Chicken Egg - 4 pieces
- Wheat Flour - 12.3 oz
- Orange bitters - 1 tablespoon
- Salt - to taste
Step by Step guide
Step 1
Grate the zest and, along with the juice squeezed from the oranges, heat in a skillet over low heat. When the liquid has reduced by two-thirds, remove from the heat and allow the mixture to cool.
Step 2
In a bowl, beat the softened butter with sugar until light and creamy. Add the eggs and mix well. In a separate bowl, combine the flour with salt and gradually fold it into the creamy mixture. Pour in the orange juice with zest, add a teaspoon of Angostura bitters, and mix again.
Step 3
Pour the batter into a cake pan greased with butter or vegetable oil (or distribute it among small muffin molds, the batter is enough for about ten pieces) and bake in a preheated oven at 329°F for one hour, until golden brown.
